In the Czech Republic, we have developed since 2010 a high-tech over-haul operations center in Žatec, testing center in Žebrák and an administrative office in Prague. However, we are still looking for other colleagues, who would like to participate in our unique projects. Are you the right person?

What will be your task at this position?

• Participates in IT infrastructure by using appropriate and trending technologies.
• Assist with the maintenance of the infrastructure of IT systems that support the business to function efficiently.
• Ensure solutions that are aligned the current systems are best practices and comply to Caterpillar policies and procedures.
• Manage updates, upgrades, and other maintenance tasks in both hardware and software areas, to make the network more efficient, cost-effective, and secure.
• Participate in AWS cloud/Data center consolidation and migration tasks associated to application migration to AWS and or Caterpillar established co-location facility.

What do we expect from a suitable candidate?

• Must have working knowledge of the following infrastructure technologies:
• VMware vSphere, vCenter. x86 based server architecture, AWS IaaS resources (EC2, EBS, S3, ELB, VPC), NetApp NAS systems
• Must have working knowledge of the following OS technologies:
• Microsoft Windows Server (2016-2022), RHEL 7-9 or CentOS.
• Ability to automate or enhance common task assignments through scripting. One of BASH, C Shell, PowerShell preferred. Python, and Ansible optional
• Knowledge of standard basic ITSM processes preferred: Incident and Change management
• Knowledge of SCRUM and Agile practices. Azure DevOps experience optional
• Degree or equivalent experience desired

Hardware Infrastructure:

• Knowledge of computer architecture and systems programming; ability to design, build and integrate IT hardware into multi-platforms for the organization.

Level Basic Understanding:

• Describes the advantages and disadvantages found in commonly used hardware products.
• Identifies the main components of IT hardware.
• Lists the main hardware vendors and products within the market place.
• Cites examples of effective hardware usage within the organization

System Testing:

• Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle.

Level Basic Understanding:

• Describes major components of system testing used by the organization.
• Documents the standard processes and procedures involved in system testing.
• Explains the importance of thorough system testing prior to implementation.
• Identifies common errors that occur in standard system testing activities.

Technical Writing/Documentation:

• Knowledge of technical writing; ability to write technical documents such as manuals, reports, guidelines or documents on standards, processes and applications.
